Fresh Start?

This entry will serve as an official “Happy New Year” message to all :). I’m finally back everyone, and this time with a less cluttered layout. That little logo next to the navigation is a brush I used from deviant art, so I don’t take credit for that. I just don’t remember who it belongs to, so if you have an idea on who it does belong to, contact me please!

How were the holidays for you guys this year? For me, it was no different than any other year. No celebrations or parties whatsoever. Christmas felt just the same as any other day, and I spent New Years Eve finishing up the second season of Alias, making it the third time watching the series again. I won’t say I’m ecstatic about my gifts, but I can say I’m happy with them though, since they were given sincerely. I received a couple DVDs (Star Trek, Watchmen, Fight Club, all great worth-watching films), comfortable socks (you can never have too many), gift cards, a pair of boots 3 sizes too big (it was the thought that counted), eyeliner (an inside joke with a crazy friend), a couple shirts, and of course, cash, all from friends. My parents aren’t ones to splurge on gifts for the family. Hopefully you guys had a much happier holiday than mine.

I’ve realized I’ve changed drastically in 2009. Change happened so much, from music taste to food preferences, and so much more, all dealing with my personality. I remember in seventh grade I was more talkative and admittedly a tad annoying. You know those annoying girls who try to listen The Devil Wears Prada and All Time Low? Ugh, unfortunately that was me. So glad that ~phase of my life is over, because that time of my life was embarrassing. I wish I could just go back in time and beat the shit out of myself and put some sense into my mind. Starting with eighth grade I drifted away from that area of music, and started listening to oldies and indie music, and that is where I am music-wise today. With film, I’ve developed a more sophisticated taste, instead of just watching countless chick flicks online. As for food, I used to be a pretty picky eater, but now I’m attempting to try more cuisines, rather than just eating pizza for lunch every day and frozen entrees for dinner. My personality’s changed a whole lot as well. I used to be more of an extrovert, but ever since eighth grade I’ve become more introverted, and I’ve been more interested in academics and being cultured in everything.

Enough about me and my ~changes, let’s talk about the site haha. More fun, I know. My goal is to start a movie review section, as you can see in the sidebar. I plan on doing this with a friend. She is fabulous and completely cultured. This will probably start maybe during spring break, summer break at the latest, but get ready for it! Coming reviews: Atonement, Fight Club, Star Trek, and maybe? Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
